In the caption of her post, Maxene shared that her father didn’t discriminate against others and talked to the people around him respectfully no matter what background they come from.

She also said that her father used to say “walang basagan ng trip” and even told her that their work is just their means of living and it doesn’t mean that it makes them better or higher than others just because they appear on television.

According to her, her father was named after St. Francis of Assisi and used his platform to advocate for peace.

Maxene shared that her father could always feel that his love for them was very deep and genuine despite his shortcomings as a father. She added that her father was her “role model for love”.

Papa was a true artist. He wasn’t just a musician—he was also an actor, a breakdancer, TV host, photographer, music video director, painter and pizza baker! He even shot photos for the Camera Club of The Philippines while battling cancer,” she said about his late father. “His life truly was one big Happy Battle.

The actress even described her father as “simple, real, down to earth, and kind” despite his iconic status. She ended her social media post by sharing that one of the things her father said to her when she was asking him for advice was, “Let go and let God”.

To summarize, here’s some of the most important life lessons that Maxene learned from her late father:

  • Treat everyone equally with respect.
  • Don’t judge other people’s life choices.
  • Being a celebrity doesn’t make you more important than others.
  • Work on becoming an instrument of peace.
  • Love your family to the best of your ability.
  • Never let anything or anyone stop you from making your dreams come true.
  • Never trade your authenticity for approval.
  • Let go and let God.

Meanwhile, Maxene posted a video of herself on her Instagram account where she can be seen vibing to “3 Stars & A Sun” to mark what would have been her late father’s 59th birthday.
