Some netizens defend Pastor Dimver Andales against ‘sugar daddy’ accusations
DIMVER ANDALES – Some netizens who had a personal connection with the pastor of Lapasan Baptist Church have taken to social media to defend him amid a wave of criticism and accusations directed towards him.
It was only recently that the pastor reacted to rumors linking him to the unfortunate demise of Adriane Rovic Fornillos, a contestant in Mr. Cagayan de Oro 2023. Apparently, several netizens claimed that he had a romantic relationship with the victim’s girlfriend, Jone Orog, alleging him as her “sugar daddy.”
However, in specific Facebook posts, several netizens unwaveringly asserted that Andales, being a ‘man of God’, would never engage in such unfaithful behavior.
A certain Argentina Sialongo, stood up for Andales, highlighting the pastor’s substantial impact on numerous lives throughout his career as a preacher. She emphasized that he demonstrated a non-discriminatory attitude, interacting with people from diverse backgrounds without prejudice.
Another netizen, Jerry Pasucal Mercado, urged caution among his fellow netizens, advising against hasty judgments of Pastor Andales. Mercado mentioned that he may not personally know Andales, but his wife did when she was studying at the Bible School in Lapasan Baptist Church. According to Mercado, his wife’s experience led her to believe that Andales was a dedicated, faithful, and wholehearted servant of the Lord Almighty.
In May of this year, the male pageant contestant from Cagayan de Oro lost his life after being shot in the head. Ornillos, a vibrant 24-year-old, had just finished his workout and was heading to a friend’s place for a rehearsal for the upcoming Mr. CDO 2023 competition. Unfortunately, fate dealt him a harsh blow.
As Adrian parked his motorcycle and was about to dismount, an unknown person approached him and demanded that he remove his helmet. Out of nowhere, the attacker suddenly fired a fatal shot, hitting Adrian in the head. Swiftly, the assailant escaped by getting onto a tricab.
Meanwhile, justice has yet to be achieved in the killing Fornillos but the police initially identified a well-known and influential person as the one who planned the crime. The murder case has been referred to the prosecutor’s office against the three suspects, including the mastermind. The case will be built up before it goes to court.
