There were times Joel Mondina regrets becoming “Pambansang Kolokoy”
JOEL MONDINA – The vlogger admitted that there have been times when he wished he hadn’t become “Pambansang Kolokoy” or PK.
Pambansang Kolokoy, whose real name is Joel Mondina, is a famous vlogger with millions of subscribers on YouTube. Months ago, he revealed that he and his estranged wife Marites Mondina decided to split up after being together for 20 years.
At the time, Mondina admitted that another woman was the reason for their separation. He was even linked to singer Mystica after videos of them went viral online. However, they clarified that they are not in a relationship. Aside from Mystica, Pambansang Kolokoy was also linked to Gladys Guevarra. Eventually, their relationship was revealed to be for a show.
In an interview with Kapamilya TV host-actor Luis Manzano on Tuesday, August 29, Joel Mondina admitted that there have been times when he has wished he hadn’t become “Pambansang Kolokoy” or PK. “Pero siguro nga, ginawa ako ng Diyos na ganito. So, nagpapasalamat pa rin ako siyempre,” he said.
According to Pambansang Kolokoy, there are times when his followers don’t take him seriously. “‘Yun bang napakaseryoso ng sinabi mo, ‘yun bang kulang na lang sabihin mo, nadisgrasya si Pambansang Kolokoy pero tatawa pa rin sila,” he further mentioned.
That’s why he said he avoids posting drama. He just gives what his audience wants and expects from him. “Kung sa tingin n’yo pang-comedy lang ako, eh ‘di comedy na lang ibibigay ko sa inyo kahit na ngayon e may ano ako, sakit,” he said. But if he has learned anything from being Pambansang Kolokoy, it’s how to get along with people he doesn’t know, especially if he wants to stay in whatever he’s doing.
