Here’s why Marvin Agustin didn’t attend the wedding of Jolina Magdangal
MARVIN AGUSTIN – The actor-chef appeared on the morning talk show “Magandang Buhay” and explained why he didn’t attend the wedding of his former on-screen partner, Jolina Magdangal.
During the show on Tuesday, July 18, Jolina asked Marvin directly why he wasn’t present at her wedding, even though he was invited. Marvin gave an honest answer, saying that he wanted to be a part of Jolina and Mark’s special day and share in their happiness. However, he decided not to attend because he didn’t want to steal the spotlight from Jolina and Mark on their special day.
Marvin thought that if he had attended, people might focus on their past on-screen relationship rather than on the joyous occasion. “Parang pakiramdam ko noon, alam ko magiging masaya ako kasi magiging parte ako ng masayang okasyon na ‘yon for you and for Mark,” he said.
“Pero parang gusto kong, alam mo naman showbiz, marami silang perception na, masaya tayo, kilig tayo, ayaw kong i-diminish ‘yong kilig at ‘yong atensiyon sa inyong dalawa ni Mark. Kasi kahit papaano, mapapatingin sila sa akin eh wala naman akong kinalaman doon sa kaligayahan na sine-celebrate that moment,” he added.
Meanwhile, Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal, popularly known as MarJo, gained fame during the 1990s and early 2000s. They are considered one of the most beloved love teams in the Philippines. Jolina and Marvin first teamed upon 1996 in the TV series Gimik. Together, they starred in various movies such as “Hey Babe”, “FLAMES: The Movie”, “Labs Kita… Okey Ka Lang?” and to name a few.
