HOLDUP – A food delivery rider almost fell victim to a holdupper, shot by the suspect using airsoft gun but managed to escape.

Food delivery riders in the Philippines have unfortunately been targeted in incidents of robbery. These incidents pose a significant risk to the safety and well-being of these riders. Due to the nature of their work, food delivery riders are easily identifiable and often carry valuable items like cash, smartphones, and food orders, making them attractive targets for criminals.

The government and delivery companies have recognized the issue and have taken measures to address it. These measures include increased collaboration with local law enforcement agencies, implementing safety features in delivery apps, providing safety training for riders, advising riders to avoid carrying large amounts of cash, and raising public awareness about respecting the safety of delivery riders. It is crucial for all stakeholders to work together to improve the safety and security of food delivery riders in the Philippines.
