First Day Ratings of Revamped Eat Bulaga!

Eat Bulaga Revamped: First Day Ratings

“EAT BULAGA!” – The first-day ratings of the revamped noontime show have been disclosed.

Amidst the recent controversy between TVJ and TAPE, Inc., the noontime show consistently achieved high ratings ranging from 6.8% to 7.8%, while its competitor, It’s Showtime, only managed to secure a rating of around 2%. However, after the departure of the TVJ trio on May 31, 2023, and the airing of replayed episodes, Eat Bulaga!’s ratings dropped to 5.2%, whereas It’s Showtime saw a slight increase to 3.2%.

The highly anticipated return of Eat Bulaga! on June 5, featuring new hosts, generated significant buzz on Twitter and received numerous comments from viewers across the country. Despite this, the ratings remained at 5.2%. In comparison, It’s Showtime maintained a rating of 3.2%.

While the ratings did not experience a substantial shift, this is still considered a positive start for Eat Bulaga!’s new format and hosts, as it was expected to be a transitional period for the show. However, the hope is that the ratings will not decline further, as this can impact advertisers’ decisions. Observations also indicate a decrease in commercial placements, resulting in shorter commercial breaks.

According to PEP Troika, other afternoon programs of GMA Network also had notable ratings on Monday. Abot Kamay na Pangarap achieved 10.8%, AraBella scored 10.1%, and The Seed of Love reached 7.5%. The lighthearted conversation between Boy Abunda and Gardo Versoza in Fast Talk With Boy Abunda garnered 5.6%, while Family Feud, in its final week before the season break, received a rating of 9.7%.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, June 4, Senator Bong Revilla’s new action-comedy series, Walang Matigas Na Pulis Sa Matinik Na Misis, dominated GMA-7’s primetime ratings with 12.3%. It surpassed Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, which scored 12.1%.
