Vice Ganda’s US Concert Producer Refutes the Accusations Made by Garth Garcia

Producer of Vice Ganda’s US concert refutes the accusations made by Fil-Am singer Garth Garcia

AMOR YU – The US-based concert producer has refuted the allegations made by Filipino-American singer Garth Garcia against Vice Ganda’s assistant during the VGful concert in California.

In an interview with Hollywood correspondent Oliver Carnay, Yu clarified that there were no instructions for the local artists to return backstage after the concert and that they were supposed to proceed directly to the Meet & Greet session. Yu also mentioned that Starmedia Entertainment, the promoter of the tour, did not inform them to go to the backstage area where the main artists were preparing.

After the show, Vice Ganda and the group celebrated in their dressing room, and Vice’s assistant politely requested the people in the hallway to excuse themselves as Vice needed to freshen up. While Garth Garcia claimed the assistant was rude, another artist named John Cueto witnessed the incident and stated it was not disrespectful.

Amor Yu clarified as per the article of PEP.ph that Garth Garcia was not the “Special Guest Artist” and that title belonged to Darren Espanto. Yu explained that local artists receive a 10% commission from ticket sales, and Garth sold ten tickets, earning $2,280. Garth was not paid a talent fee for any of the shows produced by Yu.

Regarding the dressing rooms, Yu explained that the local artists were provided rooms on the second property adjacent to the main hotel. They were instructed to check-in at the hotel and then escorted to the second property. The main challenge was the limited space in the backstage area, with only three small dressing rooms and a small green room for food. Due to the crowded backstage, there was not enough space for everyone.

Garth Garcia arrived late for the sound check, leaving no time to use the assigned room, so they went straight to the backstage area. The food provided for the local artists was available during the sound check, and the dinner afterward was exclusively for the main artists.

Amor Yu expressed surprise at Garth Garcia’s allegations and mentioned that they had personally spoken after the show.
