Negros Oriental Gov. Guido Reyes Dies Months After Succeeding Degamo

Months after succeeding Degamo, Negros Oriental Governor Guidor Reyes passes away

CARLO JORGE JOAN “GUIDO” REYES – The governor of Negros Oriental passed away on Wednesday morning as announced by provincial administrator Karen Lisette Molas.

In a video shared on the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental’s Facebook page, Molas informed viewers that she had received the news from Vice Mayor Eunica Reyes of Guihulngan City.

“About two and a half hours ago, I received a call from Vice Mayor Eunica Reyes. She informed me that the governor passed away this morning. I don’t have the exact time of death yet, but I do know that it happened today in the morning,” Molas revealed.

Molas also mentioned that she had not been granted permission by the family to disclose specific details regarding Governor Reyes’ illness or the circumstances surrounding his death. Expressing her hope for Governor Reyes’ legacy to endure, Molas added, “I do hope his legacy in public service will live on and will inspire others to do the same.”

Governor Reyes assumed the highest position in the province of Negros Oriental on March 4, following the tragic attack in Pamplona town that claimed the life of Governor Roel Degamo on the same day. Furthermore, Molas shared that she has already spoken with Vice Governor Manuel “Chaco” Sagarbarria, who will now take over the responsibilities of the Office of the Governor in the wake of this unfortunate event.
