Hailing from a difficult background, Joan was motivated by the desire to uplift her family from poverty. Her parents, both farmers, played a significant role in supporting her education and review, despite the hardships they faced. In a Facebook post filled with emotion, Joan shared her disbelief at passing the board exam on her first attempt, admitting that she was scared to even click on the results link. She credited her success to the grace of God.

While Joan’s achievement marks an important milestone in her journey, she clarified that she will not immediately quit her job as a househelper. Instead, she intends to continue working in that capacity while actively seeking a full-time teaching position in schools. Furthermore, Joan aspires to pursue a master’s degree with the guidance of God, highlighting her commitment to personal growth and professional development.

In an interview with The Summit Express, Joan shared her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. Teaching brings her immense joy, particularly when she is able to make a positive impact on her students’ learning journeys.

Yanyan confirmed Joan’s intention to remain as a kasambahay for the time being, as she continues to explore job opportunities in schools. Joan is granted time off for job interviews, recognizing the need to work and maintain her employment in order to facilitate the application process for teaching positions.
