Dominic Ochoa Visits Rico Yan’s Grave on his 21st Death Anniversary
DOMINIC OCHOA – The actor remembered his late bestfriend, former matinee idol Rico Yan, on his 21st death anniversary.
One of the most popular and handsome faces in the history of Philippine showbiz is former matinee idol Rico Yan. Many people love not only the handsome face and dimples of the actor but as well as his light and bubbly personality.
Rico worked opposite his then-girlfriend, Claudine Barretto, in many films and projects. They were in a relationship for a few years but broke up before the unexpected demise of the actor.
Rico Yan’s death broke countless hearts. He was at the peak of his career when his sudden demise during a vacation in Palawan, one of the most popular tourist spots in the country, transpired.
It was 21 years ago when Rico Yan joined the Creator at the age of 27. He was with his Whattamen co-star and best friend Dominic Ochoa when he suffered from cardiac arrest due to hemorrhagic pacreatitis during his sleep.
Rico, Dominic, and some of their companions then were staying at Dos Palmas Resort in Puerto Princesa. It was Dominic who discovered the lifeless body of his bestfriend when he was about to wake him up. It took him around three (3) years before he was able to got over the death of his bestfriend.
Recently, on his 21st death anniversary, Rico Yan was visited by his family and Dominic Ochoa at his grave in Manila Memorial Park in Sucat, Parañaque. The sister of the late actor, Tina Yan, made a special mention in her post to thank Dom for coming to visit Rico on her brother’s death anniversary.
On Instagram, Dominic Ochoa also posted a photo of him and Rico Yan. It came with a short caption indicating his death anniversary. Here’s his social media post:
