Renz Baña aka Baby Giant of Batang Quiapo
RENZ BAÑA – The content creator who’s also known as ‘Baby Giant’ revealed that he was not originally selected for the cast of ABS-CBN’s highly-rated show ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.’
FPJ’s Batang Quiapo is an action drama television series which focused on the life of a young man named Tanggol, who struggles to survive in Quiapo and eventually becomes one of the most infamous outlaws in the area. His achievement brings him closer to the truth about his identity as he attempts to win his parents’ affection.
In an interview with Bernadette Sembrano, Renz confessed that he was not the original choice for the role of Owen. Then, he received a call from the Batang Quiapo production team, that he was chosen for the said role. “Napunta po sa ‘kin ‘yung opportunity po,” he said.
Renz, who is the breadwinner of his family, left his hometown to search for opportunities in Manila. His cousin encouraged him to create videos, which eventually led him to become a content creator.
“Sobrang hirap po talaga, kayod nang kayod po talaga. ‘Yun po ‘yung mahirap talaga ‘yung sabay-sabay po kaming nag-aaral, tapos ‘yung pinagkukunan po ng mga baon namin at saka pagkain namin sa araw-araw. Mahiyain pa ‘ko dati nun eh pero sabi (ng pinsan ko), gawa tayo, ‘wag kang mahiya, kaya mo ‘yan,” he shared.
Meanwhile, Baby Giant has decided to prioritize his vlogs, which generated significant income. He dreams of building a house in Manila for his family and bringing them from the province to start a new life. His videos on social media have already amassed millions of views.
