BARBIE FORTEZA – The Kapuso actress recently spoke about the success of her love team with actor David Licauco.
The Kapuso actress expressed her joy at how the “FiLay” love team skyrocketed into a fandom ever since the Kapuso teleserye “Maria Clara at Ibarra” aired on the national television.
She said in a press conference for “Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko” on Tuesday that the success of the “FiLay” love team was “very unexpected”.
According to her, the unexpected love team with David made her glad because she didn’t think she could still be paired with a love team at this point in her career in showbiz.
“What happened to David and I is like serendipity, a fortunate accident,” she said. “Yung hindi naman talaga pinlano pero ang magical lang nung nangyari dahil pareho naming di inaasahan, and yet, naging successful siya without even trying actually.“
David, for his part, said that he credits “Maria Clara at Ibarra” team for opening more opportunities for the love team.

Barbie and David will soon star in an episode of “Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko” on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
Meanwhile, David Licauco spoke about his newfound stardom in an interview on Scout Magazine. According to the Kapuso actor, people look up to him and also see him as an inspiration.
“I’m a bit more careful now [with my actions] and I’m still trying my best to figure out kasi [people] look up to me, so they see me as an inspiration,” he said.
