Fans of ENHYPEN were irked at a female staff of NAIA ‘giggling’ while ‘frisking’ the members of K-pop group
ENHYPEN – Fans of the K-pop group took to social media wherein they expressed their anger at a staff of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 “frisking” the members of the boy band.
It was on February 3-5, 2023 when the group held their first world tour “Manifesto” in Manila. Their concert took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
A day after their concert, the K-pop group decided to return to their home country, South Korea. Before their flight, they underwent “frisking,” a part of screening at the airport. The process was done by a female staff.
On TikTok, a video was uploaded showing ENHYPEN members going through security checks at NAIA Terminal 1. In the video, a female employee is seen frisking members of ENHYPEN and asking them to remove their face masks. She was spotted “giggling” at some point.
This enraged the fans of the K-pop group with some calling her “unprofessional.” Some netizens even dubbed what she did as “nakakahiya.”
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has yet to issue an official statement regarding the viral video.
Meanwhile, ENHYPEN is a South Korean boy band composed of seven members: Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-ki. The group is formed by Belift Lab, a joint venture between CJ ENM and Hybe Corporation, through the 2020 survival competition show I-Land.
