ARNELL IGNACIO – The chief of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said that the person behind love life poll posted on the agency’s official Facebook page has been reprimanded.

In the said poll, the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were asked if they are in favor of OWW chief having a love life.

In a press briefing on Friday, Ignacio said: “This young, aggressive social media practitioner was reprimanded already.” He added: “It was all in good intention, kaya lang nilagay niya sa official page [but this social media practitioner posted it on the official page].”

OWWA posted a disclaimer on its official Facebook page, stating that the said post was “erroneously posted” and that “appropriate action has been taken.” Currently, the group in charge of OWWA’s Facebook page “is being reorganized” according to Arnell Ignacio.

Ignacio, a former television personality, continued by emphasizing the significance of providing accurate information, particularly given that OWWA handles delicate issues involving troubled OFWs. “We have addressed this [mistake]. And when I say we all need the right information, hindi kami exempted roon. Kasali kami roon. That is why took it down already,” he said.

Ignacio then urged the general public to stop focusing on the now-deleted post and instead consider what OWWA might do for the OFWs. “There are more significant things to turn our attention to,” he said.

Previously, Arnell Ignacio was criticized for flexing his expensive watch, a Patek Philippe that ranges anywhere between $21,000 and $485,000.

In the photo posted on the official Facebook page of OWWA, he can be seen eating lugaw in a lugawan in Bacoor, Cavite. The post was accompanied by the caption: “Very humble yet sosyal di ba hahaha.”
