Here’s the apology of TV Patrol to SB19 fans
TV PATROL – The ABS-CBN News program apologized after earning criticisms from SB19 fans or “A’Tin” on the microblogging site, Twitter due to wrong caption on its headline.
On New Year’s Eve, four famous artists in the country including Spongecola, Zephanie Dimaranan, Kapamilya singer Darren Espanto and SB19 performed at the Mall of Asia on Saturday night, December 31.
In the report of showbiz reporter MJ Felipe, netizens noticed the wrong caption in the broadcast of TV Patrol. The headline stated: “SPONGECOLA, DARREN ESPANTO, BINI AT BGYO MAGPE-PERFORM SA COUNTDOWN PARTY SA ISANG MALL SA PASAY CITY.”
Fans of SB19 known as A’Tin immediately noticed the wrong caption. One of the fans said: “Your headline is misleading, wala naman sila sa line-up.” Another netizen noted: “Paki-double check po sana ‘yung headline.”
On Sunday, January 1, TV Patrol issued an apology for its mistake. The fans, on the other hand, accepted the apology of the news program.
“Isa lang pong paglilinaw, SB19 po ang P-pop group na kabilang sa performers sa New Year’s street party sa isang mall sa Pasay City, taliwas sa caption ng aming ulat kagabi. Muli, paumanhin po sa A’Tin, at Kapamilya viewers and netizens,” host Zen Hernandez said.
Meanwhile, SB19 is a Filipino boy band made up of Pablo, Stell, Ken, Justin, and Josh that debuted in 2018. They are the first Filipino and Southeast Asian act to be nominated for a Billboard Music Award in the category for Top Social Artist. They are also the first Southeast Asian act to top the Billboard Social 50 weekly and year-end charts.
