Paolo Contis Proud of Urian Best Actress Yen Santos
PAOLO CONTIS – The Kapuso actor took to social media a congratulatory message to Yen Santos after she was awarded as the Urian Best Actress.
Recently, the 45th Gawad Urian awards night was held at Cine Adorna of the UPFI Film Center at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. At the event, actress Yen Santos was awarded as the best actress for her role in the movie A Faraway Land.
The film A Faraway Land was directed by Veronica Velasco and it was shot in the Faroe Islands. The movie top-billed by Yen and Paolo Contis was released in August 2021. It featured a complicated love story that blossomed between an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Mahjoy Garðalið and a Filipino reporter, Nico Mercado.
Nico who was played by Paolo Contis went to Faroe Islands to document the lives of the OFWs. While they fell in love, there were complications as Mahjoy who is played by Yen is married to a local in Faroe Islands and they have a daughter.
Based on a report on Pep, at the 45th Gawad Urian awarding, Yen Santos was awarded as the Best Actress for A Faraway Land. One of the people who was quick to congratulate the actress was her co-star and rumored boyfriend, Paolo Contis.
On social media, Paolo posted a photo of Yen with veteran actor John Arcilla who won Best Actor for his role in On The Job. In his caption, he expressed how proud he is of the actress citing that the award is “well deserved”. He also wrote, “see you in a while”.
Based on the article, several netizens did not recognize Yen Santos right away because she was out from the limelight for several months now. Her name was dragged in the breakup of Paolo and former actress LJ Reyes who flew abroad together with her son Aki and their daughter, Summer.
Both Paolo and Yen stayed mum on the rumors linking them and there were several instances when the two (2) celebrities were spotted together.
