Michael V, all praise from netizens for “Gusto Ko Nang Bumigay”
GUSTO KO NANG BUMIGAY – Michael V’s parody version of the hit song “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw” by Morissette has gone viral on social media.
Bubble Gang is a sketch comedy show broadcast by GMA Network. It was inspired by the gag show Tropang Trumpo. The show emphasizes pop culture parody. Skits and sketches are performed in a manner similar to variety shows. It also spoofs other television shows, adverts, and famous people.
It premiered on October 20, 1995, on the network’s Friday night line up replacing Vilma. The show is the longest-running comedy show in the Philippines. The series is streaming online on YouTube.
Directed by Frasco Mortiz, it stars Michael V, Paolo Contis, Chariz Solomon, Betong Sumaya, Sef Cadayona, Valeen Montenegro, Archie Alemania, Analyn Barro, Faye Lorenzo, Kokoy de Santos, Tuesday Vargas, Kim de Leon, and Dasuri Choi.
The show is currently celebrating its 27th year. During their 27th-anniversary special episode on Friday, November 25, 2022, Michael V performed a parody version of the song Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw. Watch the video below:
But instead of his usual comedic parodies, Michael V wowed the audiences with heartfelt lyrics about the difficulties of being a secret member of the LGBTQ+ community.
Meanwhile, “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw” is an original song of Sheryn Regis. But it became popular this year when it became the theme song of the hit teleserye, The Broken Marriage Vow. The theme song of the series starring Jodi Sta. Maria, Zanjoe Marudo and Sue Ramirez was popularized by Morissette Amon.
