Aigy Rose Alba, who was a Senior Analyst at Shopee, shared on Facebook that there were many reasons why her former company decided to downsize its employees, and Toni was not one of them.

According to her, they are already aware that Shopee will lay off some employees as a result of the global economic downturn, not just in the Philippines.

She is grateful to her former employer because Shopee cared about their employees until the end.

“Even until the very end, Shopee secured a separation package that is more than what we expected,” she said.

She also gave a message to some netizens politicizing his former company and spreading rumors that Toni Gonzaga’s big talent fee was the reason why the company lay off employees.

“Kaya please! Don’t use our heartbreaks for your political advantage. Stop using us with your cancel culture,” she said.

Alba also shared that she received a six-digit separation fee from Shopee.
