Almost a year after giving birth to daughter Sloane, the actress opens up about how being a mom expanded her heart and her art
Actress Lovi Poe says becoming a mother has not only changed her as a person but has also made her a better actress, in an interview made public on Monday, November 2, 2026, almost a year after she gave birth to her daughter Sloane with husband Monty Blencowe.
The actress shared her thoughts during The New Nocturnals Halloween ball held on October 29 at the Manila Peninsula hotel in Makati City.

“I think I have a deeper meaning now. I feel like I have this deeper understanding about life and I have a deeper purpose,” Lovi said.
“I feel like this is something that, I would like to use the word beneficial, as an actress because talagang I didn’t realize how my art could stretch and how my heart had expanded,” she continued.
“And it’s just like now I know a different layer of emotions now that I have a daughter. And I just have nothing but love. It’s like a different experience for me,” the actress added.
Known as one of the most fashionable stars in local showbiz, Lovi also explained why motherhood did not make her give up her signature style.
“I think I’m still the same me. I feel like I guess I’ve just added a different layer to myself and I think that’s the thing about being a mom right? Things don’t necessarily have to change who you are, you just add something even better to it,” she said.
Lovi admitted that parenthood also revealed a side of her she never knew she had. “Oh I didn’t know I could be, I feel like I am, that I could be this nurturing. I’m usually aloof as a person. But now, I am more vocal and more expressive of my emotions,” she shared.
In an earlier interview, the actress was honest about how tough the first year was. “It was brutal talaga. The rotation every three hours—she wakes up, I feed her then burp her,” she recalled. “I enjoyed all of it. There are so many sacrifices but there is just willingness you never thought you would have.”
“Ang bilis ng time. She is already saying so many things, walking already. I try to savor everything but you can’t savor enough,” Lovi said.
