Legarda made headlines earlier after the senator admitted in a privilege speech that she once worked with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines.

Eventually, she made a clarification about her prior statement on the so-called lefts.

The senator said that she’s also condemning all forms of violence and terrorism, and is calling for an end to armed conflict.

She stressed that she’s in favor of peace talks between the terrorist groups and the government.

“I am in favor of peace talks that are built upon a genuine desire to come to an agreement, which are within our democratic framework and in accordance with all our laws,” she said.

Sen. Loren Legarda maintained that she’s still supporting the AFP as a reserve officer.

Meanwhile, Jay Sonza, an ex-broadcast journalist and former colleague of the senator has spoken about the latter.

Before Legarda entered politics, she was once a journalist at ABS-CBN.

In a video, Sonza said that he was doubtful of Legarda even before.

According to him, he’s wondering why she’s always called by leftist groups when they want to release arrested policemen and soldiers or they have something to say to the people.

“Kaya pala nagtataka ako, bakit laging may exclusive si Loren kapag ini-interview niya eh ‘yung mga spokesman ng CPP-NPA,” he said.

It is also possible that the senator is still connected to the said group.

“Anak ng tokwa, sa talino kong to hindi ko nakita to noon,” he said.

Sonza believes that Legarda deceived those who voted for her after her confession.

“It appears na para tayong na-budol, parang na-budol ‘yung mga bumoto kay Loren Legarda bilang senador,” he said.
