Julia Barretto: “Hindi ko ipagkakait ang forgiveness but I’m just not ready.”
JULIA BARRETTO – The actress admitted that she’s not yet ready to forgive her father Dennis Padilla.
Julia rose to prominence after being cast in ABS-CBN’s Kokey, where she played the lead role of Anna Calugdan.
She also starred in other TV series such as Mirabella.
In 2020, she left Star Magic to sign a contract with Viva Artist Agency.
In a vlog interview with Karen Davilla, Julia revealed that she and her dad are still not on speaking terms.
“Where are you now with your dad?” Karen asked.
According to her, having issues with her dad and later on, settling it has become a cycle.
“I’ll be very honest, we have not spoken, and it’s because there’s just so much fear inside me now, if I’m being very open,” she said.
It can be recalled that it was in 2015 when Julia and Dennis settled their issue after the actress initially planned to change her surname (Baldivia), the true last name of Dennis, and turn it into Barretto, the surname of her mom Marjorie.
Unfortunately, their relationship went on the rocks in later years.
One of the issues that caught the public’s attention is when Dennis opened up about what he felt towards his children after they failed to greet him on Father’s Day, June 19.
Aside from Julia, Dennis has two other kids with Marjorie namely Claudia and Leon Barretto.
When Karen asked Julia if she has forgiven her dad, she said: “Hindi ko ipagkakait ang forgiveness but I’m just not ready.”
Dennis has yet to react on the statement of his daughter Julia.
