In a now-deleted post on Facebook, Katips director Vince Tañada announced that he was looking for a photographer for his birthday in exchange for “X-Deals”.

“Looking for a photographer who can do X Deals for my birthday party tonight. PM me!” he wrote.

An “x-deal” is a transaction between two parties to swap goods or services without the involvement of cash.

However, it is not yet known what the photographer will gain after agreeing to give his/her services to the director for free. Eventually, he deleted his post.

Apparently, many were not amused by the announcement of the director, and among those is a certain Rey-an Moreno.

“Kawawa photographers sa Pinas. Ito yung direktor ng #KATIPS na ang laki daw ng kinita sa sinehan, million tapos hahanap ng photographer for birthday party e X deal, it means walang bayad,” he began.

According to him, the director should have known better than asking for “photogs” to shoot in exchange for an x-deal.

He also cited the things that a photographer needs to go through before doing shoots.

He added that photographers like him need money and not “shoutout.”

Vince Tañada has yet to make a comment on the post of the said photographer.

Tañada is popularly known as the director of Katips.

It is about a group of student activists from the Katipunan area of Quezon City who struggled to protest the imposition of nationwide martial law in the 1970s.

The film stars Jerome Ponce, Vince Tañada, Mon Confiado, Sazchna Laparan, Nicole Laurel Asensio and to name a few.
