Does Sara Duterte have something to do with the arrest of Walden Bello?
SARA DUTERTE – The Laban sa Masa group blamed the vice president following the arrest of their chairman Walden Bello.
It was on August 8 when Bello was arrested by members of the PNO at Quezon City hall due to two charges filed against him by former Jefry Tupas, former Davao City information officer and aide of Duterte.
Bello, a vice presidential candidate in the previous election accused Tupas of involving in the illegal drug trade. The latter vehemently denied the accusation of Bello.
But according to Laban sa Masa, Sara Duterte is only using Tupas to get revenge for Bello’s insults to her during the campaign period.
It can be recalled that during the election season, Bello dared Duterte to attend debates and face him off in a discussion. The daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte did not give way to the request of the ex-vice presidential aspirant. There was even a time he called her “coward.”
Meanwhile, his presidential running mate Leody de Guzman plead to free Bello.
“Hindi kailanman magiging makatuwiran ang kasong cyberlibel laban kay Walden Bello dahil malinaw na ang motibasyon sa likuran nito ay pampulitikang panunupil. Panunupil laban sa mga kritiko, pati na rin sa lahat ng kritikal sa kanilang administrasyon. Anumang pakana ng administrasyon ay mabibigo,” he said.
Walden Bello is currently being detained but his camp is set to post bail on his behalf.
