After 26 years of marriage, Tessa Prieto and her husband break up. Here’s what she has gone through amid their separation
TESSA PRIETO – For the first time, the socialite has opened up about her breakup with husband Dennis Valdes after 26 years of marriage.
The couple ended their relationship as husband and wife after their grandiose renewal of wedding vows on their 25th or silver anniversary last June 24, 2019.
Tessa served as a host during the question-and-answer portion of the media launch of the streaming app AQ Prime.
At one point, she was asked about the current status of her love life.
“Moving forward na ako, and choosing my new chapter,” said the lifestyle columnist and philanthropist.
According to her, what she’s going through at the moment is difficult, but with the help of her family and friends, she’s able to stand up.
“It was very painful, and of course I felt the betrayal. But in the end, after a year and a half, I decided, ay, it’s time that it wasn’t mine to fix but mine to let go,” she said.
Tessa Prieto is also thankful to her children who understood the situation and did not become a hindrance in their decision to part ways. Her eldest is already 36 while her youngest is 17.
In order to cope with her situation, Tessa Prieto underwent almost all kinds of therapy and treatment such as sound healing through gong therapy, talk therapy, retail therapy, therapy with a horse, therapy for healing for marriages, and to name a few.
Presently, Tessa is still in the process of healing.
Tessa Prieto said that she and her ex-husband Dennis are still on speaking terms as they agreed on a co-parenting set-up for their kids.
As of press time, she’s not ready for an annulment because, for her, it would be a tiring and painful process.
