What Lyca Gairanod has to say about her trending answer on Family Feud?
LYCA GAIRANOD – The singer clarified her answer on Family Feud about an animal likened to a corrupt politician.
Lyca rose to fame after winning the first season of The Voice Kids Philippines.
Eventually, she landed a recording contract with MCA Music Inc. (Philippines).
Apart from her singing career, she also ventured into acting. Her first acting stint was via an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya wherein she portrayed herself.
Then, she guested in ABS-CBN’s Hawak-Kamay.
Gairanod was born into a poor family collecting plastic materials, bottles, and other recyclable items for additional income.
Her father was a fisherman, and her mother scavenged used bottles and old newspapers. At the time, Gairanod helped her mother and sang for her neighbors in exchange for money and food.
Today, she’s considered one of the most popular singers in the country.
Recently, she appeared in the game show, Family Feud, which airs on GMA-7.
One of the questions was: “Sa anong hayop inihahalintulad ang corrupt na politiko.”
She replied with “tigre” or tiger. She likened the said animal to a corrupt politician.

Her answer immediately went viral on social media.
She earned massive backlash, especially from netizens who are avid supporters of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
It can be recalled that during the May 2022 elections, PBBM was dubbed “Tigre ng Norte”.
Apparently, some netizens did not like her answer. This prompted her to speak up and make a clarification about it.
