Angelu de Leon speaks on her “relationship” with Bobby Andrews
ANGELU DE LEON – The actress has spoken about her “relationship” with former love team partner Bobby Andrews.
Angelu whose real name is Maria Luisa Angela Martinez de Leon-Rivera is an actress and politician.
She started acting at the age of 12 after being discovered by Johnny Manahan.
In 1995, she got her break when she was included in teen-oriented shows like T.G.I.S. (Thank God It’s Sabado) and Growing Up with Onemig Bondoc, Ciara Sotto, Raven Villanueva, Michael Flores, Rica Peralejo and Red Sternberg.
These shows gave her a chance to team up with Bobby Andrews, and their partnership became one of the hottest onscreen love teams of her generation in the mid-1990s.
After her acting career, she ventured into politics, and presently, she’s serving as councilor for Pasig’s 2nd district.
On the other hand, Bobby whose real name is Robert Riu Andrews is an actor, TV host and former matinee idol.
After teaming up with Angelu in television series and movies, he decided to enter politics. However, he failed to win a seat in the Quezon City council.
In the “Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel,” Angelu de Leon opened up about her “relationship” with Bobby Andrews.
“Sabihin na nga nating si Bobby lang ang hindi ko nakatuluyan,” she said. “Kasi at that time talaga, meron kaming age difference, at medyo malayo.”
Because of their age gap, Bobby considered Angelu as his youngest sister.
They really respect each other, which is why they were able to surpass the level as friends. Therefore, their closeness doesn’t need a label.
