An emotional and surprised reunion during graduation
ELLA DEGOMA – An honor student went emotional after being surprised by her OFW mother on her graduation day.
Degoma shared that her mom told her that she could not make it to her graduation.
Her mother said that it would be expensive since she needs to undergo her own expense quarantine in a hotel upon her return to Hong Kong that’s why she can’t be with her on her graduation day even though she offered to shoulder the 3-day bill to her hotel.
Aside from that, her mom told her that her boss won’t allow her to take a leave of absence.
Eventually, she accepted the “fact” that her mom will miss her graduation.
Little did she know that everyone already knew that her mom is going to attend her graduation except of course herself.
In fact, a friend of hers helped in processing the requirements so that her mom could enter the convention center.
On the day of her graduation, her mom came early and was only hidden by her teachers backstage.
While walking at the ceremony, she was accompanied by her father and was a bit emotional thinking if only her mom was there as well.
On her way to the stage, she did not have any idea that her mom was just on her back.
When she figured out that it was her mom, she was shocked and hugged her in tears. Even her classmates and teachers went emotional after witnessing that moment.
In an interview with Kami, she expressed her gratitude to her mom and is hoping that someday she will no longer need to work abroad.
