DepEd Speaks on Target Full Face-to-Face Classes by November

DepEd Secretary and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Plans to Get Face-to-Face Classes to 100% by November

DEPED – The Department of Education spoke on the target full implementation of the face-to-face classes by November 2022.

The Education sector is one of those fields that were greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to the pandemic, most classes in the Philippines are conducted face-to-face. Most students are also used to going to school, building rapport with other students, and doing activities with their classmates.

However, due to the threats of the pandemic, the school authorities had to come up with a learning mode that will lower the risk of the students’ getting sick. Both the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Education (DepEd) implemented blended learning in the delivery of lessons and instructions to the students.

The students may choose to attend online classes or work on modules. Most schools in the country now have yet to return to face-to-face classes despite the easing of the restrictions. There are a few schools that have piloted the resumption of the F2F classes.

DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos announced that DepEd Secretary and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte plans full face-to-face classes by November. According to the President, the Vice President wants to start the phased implementation of the F2F classes in September and eventually reach a hundred percent by November.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, in a Viber message, DepEd spokesman Atty. Reynold Munsayac told reporters that “a Department Order will be issued to guide everyone” regarding the planned implementation of face-to-face classes to start in phases until all classes are on F2F again.

Marcos Jr. previously told reporters that he and the DepEd Secretary will still talk regarding the vaccinations of the students and some issues that will be possibly raised over the plan to conduct full face-to-face classes.
