Korina Sanchez Posts Beautiful Birthday Tribute to Late Mom Celia Sanchez
KORINA SANCHEZ – Renowned broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez-Roxas has shared a touching tribute to her late mother Celia Sanchez.
Korina Sanchez is a distinguished broadcast journalist, tv host, columnist, and radio anchor in the Philippines. She started her professional career by joining the People’s Television Network (PTV).
She previously worked at ABS-CBN’s Integrated News and Current Affairs Division as a chief correspondent. Following the non-renewal of Kapamilya’s franchise, the 57-year-old journalist transferred to TV5 after signing with Brightlight Productions.
Korina Sanchez is married to former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas. They exchanged their wedding vows in 2009 and have been blessed with 2 children, Pepe and Pilar.
The prominent journalist recently penned an emotional heartfelt letter to her late mom, Celia Sanchez. On IG, Korina uploaded a throwback photo she took with her mom back in Hong Kong.

In the caption of the post, Korina Sanchez reminisces about her precious moments with her mom. She shared that back when she first started working, she decided to treat her parents to a trip back to Hong Kong. She also mentioned that her mom used to work as an OFW in Hong Kong.
“I stumbled on a boxfull of old photos. I remember this day in our hotel room.”
“I was beginning to earn from TV work and wanted to treat my parents to a trip back to Hongkong—-where my Mom worked as an OFW and met my Dad there working as a hotel GM. I was made and born in HKG actually. We lived there till I was three.”
Korina Sanchez also recalled her mom’s reaction when she ordered room service at a 5-star hotel.
“My Mom worked SO hard. From humble origins she put her siblings through school, created her own company and gave her children, me, the best life she knew how to give. I was shocked this day when I put them in a five star hotel and ordered room service. And she said, “wow, Ive never had room service before, thank you hija”. Never had room service all her life? But gave us all the best? My Mom is a superhero in disguise as a mortal, really.”
“There will always be room for service to your parents while they’re still around. It will never be enough gratitude,” she added.
