Male Teenager Falls From Cliff While Taking Selfies
NUEVA VIZCAYA – A male teenager fell off from a 50-meter deep cliff while taking selfies after he run away from his home.
An 18-year male student identified as Mark Genesis Balagtas falls from a ravine while taking selfies at the historic Balete Pass National Shrine in Barangay Tactac, Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya.
The victim is heading to his auntie in San Mateo, Isabela after he run away from his home in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, on his way. The latter decided to drop by Balete Pass National Shrine to take pictures.
Unfortunately, Balagtas felt dizziness while taking selfies near the ravine and accidentally fall from the cliff, according to Santa Fe Nueva Vizcaya Police Station Lieutenant Jefferson Dalayap.
The student shouted for help and caught the attention of the police authorities who were busing along the checkpoint in the Dalton Pass.
Dalayap and the police of the 3rd Maneuver Platoon 2nd Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Mobile Force Company, with Patrolman Gerald Etcobanez and Patrolman Vergel Lumauig together with Santa Fe Philippine National Police proceed to the area to rescue the kid.
Unfortunately, the rescuers struggle to save the young student because of the situation. Balagtas suffered bruises in various parts of his body. Santa Fe MDRRMO Nurse Allan Lazaro applied a first aid to the victim.
The victim suffered bruises in different parts of his body. Mark has been brought to his home in Nueva Ecija. He was also advised to rest for recovery.
“Naglayas daw kasi ang binata at plano na noong pumunta sa kanyang tiyahin sa San Mateo, Isabela pero bumaba ito sa bus para magpapicture muna doon sa Nueva Vizcaya nang maganap iyong pagkahulog niya,” Dalayap said.
