ANG PROBINSYANO – The stars of the top-rating ABS-CBN series paid a tribute to late actress Susan Roces who’s popular with her role, Lola Flora.

Dubbed as the “Queen of Philippine Movies”, Roces passed away on Friday night, May 20 at the age of 80.

It was confirmed by her daughter Senator Grace Poe.

Celebrities have extended their sympathy for her sudden demise.

Stars of top-rating Kapamilya teleserye, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano have paid their tribute to Susan Roces who plays the role of Flora “Lola Kap” S. Borja-de Leon, the grandmother of Cardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) in the said series.

Among those who paid tribute to Lola Flora are Coco Martin, John Arcilla, Jaime Fabregas, Sharon Cuneta as well as Gary Valenciano, the singer behind the series’ theme song, “Wag Ka Ng Umiyak.”

Meanwhile, Roces, whose real name is Jesusa Purificacion Levy Sonora-Poe was born to a French American mother of Jewish descent and a mestizo father of Spanish and Chinese descent.

Her showbiz career started when she starred in the movie Mga Bituin ng Kinabukasan.

Eventually, her career skyrocketed, starring in more than 130 films in her career that spanned 70 years.

In fact, she was once regarded as the foremost leading lady of local cinema. She has starred in several iconic Filipino movies such as Ang Daigdig Ko’y Ikaw, Gumising Ka Maruja, Patayin Mo sa Sindak si Barbara, and Mano Po.

Through the years, she already received various awards and citations.

Aside from that, she was honored by the Philippine Post Office with a stamp after being recognized as one of the ten outstanding Filipinos.
