Lacson chides at the Duterte admin’s “utang”
PING LACSON – The incumbent senator and presidential candidate reacted to the huge debt which will be left by the Duterte administration.
Lacson will run for president in the coming elections together with his runningmate, Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III. They will go against the tandem of; former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong, Senator Manny Pacquiao and Buhay partylist representative, Lito Atienza as well as Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
In a radio interview on April 6, Lacson said it is embarrassing as an official to leave a debt amounting to trillions of pesos.
“Yung utang natin pagbaba ni [late former President Benigno Aquino III in] 2016, P5.9-trillion. Ngayon magkano? P12.09-trillion and counting. Ang projection nga bago mag-June 30 nasa mga P13.4-trillion tayo,” Lacson said.
“So, ito ‘yung ipapamana natin sa susunod na generation. ‘Di ba, nakakahiya itong generation natin na sa halip na pamanahan natin ‘yung mga susunod na generation ng magandang Pilipinas, utang ‘yung ipapamana natin? Parang ang hirap naman yatang dadalhin natin sa libingan natin ‘yung legacy natin ay utang,” he added.
Lacson also gave an opinion regarding the candidacy of the presidential daughter, vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
Malacañang has yet to react on Lacson’s tirade.
Meanwhile, the candidates for national and local posts are busy campaigning as the election date nears.
The Lacson-Sotto tandem is doing its all in wooing the voters.
Previously, the nine presidential candidates faced off in the second presidential debate sponsored by the Commission on Election (Comelec).
Apparently, BBM was not present anew.
However, according to Sen. Ping Lacson, round 2 of Comelec sponsored debate was boring.
