ROWENA GUANZON – The retired Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Commissioner has a furious response at SAGIP party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta.

Recently, Guanzon took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter wherein she stressed that the congressman, whom she called “epal”, should not be voted in the coming election.

She added that the politician is just riding on her popularity.

“I will not vote for Marcoleta. He attacked me in a video. Epao riding on my popularity. Olats ka na!” she noted.

Earlier, Marcoleta slammed Guanzon over her actions prior to her retirement as Comelec commissioner.

One of which is when the ex-commissioner expressed her opinion regarding the disqualification case faced by presidential candidate, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Marcoleta has yet to issue any statement with regards to the latest social media post of Guanzon.

To recall, it was on February 2 when Guazon retired from her post as Comelec commissioner.

Days before her retirement, she made a buzz for notably presiding over the disqualification case filed against presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos. At the time, she publicly named fellow commissioner Aimee Ferolino as “the one delaying the decision in favor of Marcos.”

Rowena Guanzon served as commissioner of Comelec from 2015 to 2022 under President Benigno Aquino III and President Rodrigo Duterte.

She also served as Mayor of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, and as Commission on Audit (COA) commissioner.

She also served as chief of staff to late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, whom she still considers a role model.
