Many showbiz personalities are trying their luck in the upcoming elections. One of their primary reasons for venturing into politics is to expand their platform in helping others.

Among those who are rooting for elective posts in 2022 are renowned celebrities such as Raffy Tulfo, Jason Abalos, Ejay Falcon, Richard Yap, Anjo Yllana, Angelu de Leon, Nash Aguas, Dennis Padilla to name a few.

Adding to the list of celebrities-turned-election hopefuls is no less than action star Robin Padilla. The action star will run for senator under the PDP-Laban faction led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi.

But recently, retired Comelec commissioner Rowena Guanzon announced that she will not vote for Robin Padilla for the senatorial post.

This prompted the action-star-turned senatorial aspirant to respond with the fiery statement of Guanzon.

“Nakakatuwa naman ang retired COMELEC official na ito na lumabag sa mismong mga patakaran ng korte at nag-eskandalo sa labas ng COMELEC at siniraan ang kanyang pinagsilbihan ng ilang taon. Ito ang halimbawa ng grand standing,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rowena Guazon took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter wherein fired back at Robin’s furious statement.

“Paano nya alam ang patakaran ng kort[e]? Abogado ba sya? Baka abogago,” she wrote.

To recall, it was on February 2 when Guazon retired from her post as Comelec commissioner.

Days before her retirement, she made a buzz for notably presiding over the disqualification case filed against presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos. At the time, she publicly named fellow commissioner Aimee Ferolino as “the one delaying the decision in favor of Marcos”.
