MARIEL PADILLA – The former host admitted that the income of her “Cooking Ina” meat business is their primary source to finance the campaigning of her husband, senatorial aspirant Robin Padilla.

Many showbiz personalities are trying their luck in the upcoming elections. One of their primary reasons for venturing into politics is to expand their platform in helping others.

Among those who are rooting for elective posts in 2022 are renowned celebrities such as Raffy Tulfo, Jason Abalos, Ejay Falcon, Richard Yap, Anjo Yllana, Angelu de Leon, Nash Aguas, Dennis Padilla to name a few.

Adding to the list of celebrities-turned-election hopefuls is no less than action star Robin Padilla. The action star will run for senator under the PDP-Laban faction led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi.

Previously, he admitted that it was his wife Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla who’s financing his candidacy from t-shirts and tarpaulins he’s distributing in his visit in various places across the country.

Meanwhile, Mariel herself admitted that the income of her meat business is their financial source for the campaigning of her husband.

“Kapag nagpapagawa kami ng t-shirt pakonti-konti lang kasi ‘yun lang ang kaya namin. Nu’ng birthday, Christmas at ngayong Valentine ‘yun ang gift ko sa kanya. Kasi wala talaga kaming pang-campaign,” she said.

Meanwhile, the campaign period for national positions starts today, February 8 with proclamation rallies of top presidential and vice-presidential candidates along with their senatorial slate being held across the country.
