Iyo Bernardo answered the statement of Vico Sotto
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto was slammed by Vice Mayor Iyo Bernardo following the former’s statement during a flag ceremony last week.
Bernardo filed his certificate of candidacy last year for mayor. He is running against Sotto and as early as now, the political rivalry between them is already heating up.
To recall, last week, Sotto said that Bernardo has been skipping meetings and ignoring his text messages, based on the report from ABS-CBN News. The Mayor said that politics should be set aside and working for their constituents must be prioritized.
Mayor Vico Sotto also said that there is nothing wrong with complaining as it is the right of everyone but criticizing without doing the duties and responsibilities is not right.
With this, based on the recent Twitter post of ABS-CBN reporter Kat Domingo, Vice Mayor Iyo Bernardo slammed the Pasig City Mayor. Bernardo said that he can let the statement of Sotto pass regarding the text messages, which he said he did not receive.
However, Bernardo stressed that he can’t let it pass when Sotto was already tarnishing his name by accusing him of not doing his responsibilities. “Kailangan kong ipaalala sa’yo ang ambag ko at ng aking pamilya sa Pasig,” the Vice Mayor said.
Bernardo also said that when he ran for Vice Mayor in 2019, he had no opponent at it was because of his good records in public service. He also said that Sotto is lucky that he got famous during the time of social media.
“Hindi mo naranasan ang panahon na sinusukat ang eleksyon sa husay ng paglilingkod,” Bernardo said. He also accused the Pasig City Mayor of using the internet to cover up all his shortcomings in extending help to the people.
Iyo Bernardo also said that Vico Sotto, just like on TV, knows the formula on how to gain the attention of the public.
