Vico Sotto Files COC For Pasig Mayor As He Seeks Reelection

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto: “Nag-file na po ako kaagad ng COC para tapos na, di naman kailangan ng drama at suspense.”

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) before the local Comelec office in the first district of Pasig as he’s vying for a second term.

Mayor Vico was accompanied by his parents Coney Reyes and Vic Sotto in the filing of his Certificate of Candidacy on Friday morning.

In his social media post, Mayor Vico admitted that he faced difficulty in his first term and projects were stalled because of the pandemic as he recalled that he’s only able to serve as mayor “in normal situation” for only 9 months.

Nag-file na po ako kaagad ng COC para tapos na, di naman kailangan ng drama at suspense. Basta, panahon man ng pulitika o hindi, uunahin natin ang trabaho,” Mayor Vico said.

Sotto also said that he needed more time in office in order to carry out the changes he wanted in the city and to make sure that they’re felt by the Pasigueños.

His running mate, former Pasig City Representative Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr., also filed his certificate of candidacy for vice mayor, marking his bid for a comeback in politics.

The Manila Times reported that Pasig’s councilors were expected to follow suit next week.

Prior to this, Mayor Vico was hailed as one of the 12 International Anticorruption Champions by the US Department of State last February 24, 2021.

The US Department praised the efforts of Mayor Vico against the corruption on transactions and projects of the city.
