Many showbiz personalities are trying their luck in the upcoming elections. One of their primary reasons for venturing into politics is to expand their platform in helping others.

Among those who are rooting for elective posts in 2022 are renowned celebrities such as Raffy Tulfo, Jason Abalos, Ejay Falcon, Richard Yap, Anjo Yllana, Angelu de Leon, Nash Aguas, Dennis Padilla to name a few.

Adding to the list of celebrities-turned-election hopefuls is no less than action star Robin Padilla. The action star will run for senator under the PDP-Laban faction led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi.

While some are criticizing his “ambition” to secure a senate seat, there were also those who defend and even campaign for him. One of which is his no less than his ex-wife, Liezl Sicangco.

Recently, she went to the image-sharing site, Instagram wherein she showed support to Robin.

In her post, she can be seen holding a tarpaulin with the actor’s face printed on it while promoting his senatorial bid in the May 9, 2022 elections.

It was accompanied by the caption: “Ang tunay na may malasakit sa Filipino. Robin ang senator ko.”

Meanwhile, out of hundreds who filed their Certificate of Candidacy (COC) in the 2022 senatorial polls, only 12 will be elected.

Among those who are rooting a senatorial slot in the coming elections are ordinary citizens to elite individuals as well as prominent personalities.

The campaign period for nationally-elected positions will kick off on February 8, 2022, until May 7, 2022, while the nationwide election is scheduled to be held on May 9.
