Ping Lacson expresses admiration to late ex-president Noynoy Aquino

PING LACSON – The presidential aspirant and incumbent senator expressed his admiration to former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

Lacson is gearing up for the highest position in the government this coming May 9, 2022 election.

Together with her runningmate, Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, they will go against the tandem of; Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong, Senator Manny Pacquiao and Buhay partylist representative, Lito Atienza.

Earlier, Lacson and the top presidentiables except Marcos Jr. faced veteran broadcast journalist and news anchor Jessica Soho for a tell-all interview.

At one point, Jessica asked Lacson who among the past presidents he admire the most. According to him, it was late ex-president Noynoy Aquino.

He claimed that the latter was not involved in corruption while working under his administration.

“Sa mga nakaraang pangulo natin, talagang siya ang hinahangaan ko kasi hindi siya corrupt, ‘yun ang pagkakakilala ko sa kanya dahil nakatrabaho ko siya,” he said.

“Pinangunahan niya yung ‘no wang-wang policy’; symbolic, napakasimple, pero napaka-symbolic. Ibig sabihin, walang entitlement,” he added.

Lacson became part of Aquino’s cabinet as Presidential Assistant for Rehabilitation and Recovery (PARR) after Super Typhoon Yolanda struck.

In the said interview, Lacson also answered some issues that he faced before, including his hiding when he was supposed to be arrested due to the Dacer-Corbito case.
