Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has called for unity among Duterte allies.
SARA DUTERTE – The vice-presidential aspirant and incumbent Davao City mayor called on all supporters of the Duterte administration to unite amidst the reported rift created when administration allies Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr and Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go went separate ways with both seeking the presidency in the 2022 elections.
Mayor Sara told her supporters in a recorded video posted on her Facebook page on Tuesday night that the “fight has just started”. According to her, she knew this will be long and arduous but she’s confident that her supporters will support her until the end.
“Ngayon ay gusto ko sanang simulan ang ating laban sa pamamagitan ng isang panawagan: Magkaisa po tayong lahat na sumusuporta sa administrasyong Duterte,” Mayor Sara said.
She also said that the supporters of the Duterte administration have a common goal which was to have a “stronger, more peaceful, and a more developed” Philippines.
Mayor Sara was running for vice president under the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) in the 2022 elections. Her father decided to run for Senator under PDDS.
According to her, their goal was not only to continue what her father started but to also do better and broaden it.

The incumbent Davao City mayor also clarified that after deciding to run for the national elections, their party made an alliance and asked for support for Bongbong and for her. However, the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Laban ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) refused to do so.
“Gusto ko lamang na linawin walang pangalan na sinisira o dinudungisan, walang sinasagasaan, walang inaagrabyado, inaaway, pinapaiyak, o inaapi,” Mayor Sara said. “Sa muli nananawagan ako ng pagkakaisa.”
Meanwhile, Bongbong confirmed on Tuesday evening that he and Mayor Sara had finalized their tandem as standard-bearer and running mate, respectively, in the 2022 elections.
“Sa layunin naming dalawa na ipagpatuloy at palawigin pa ang mga magagandang nagawa ng pamahalaang Duterte ay sabay kami ngayong nananawagan na kapit-bisig lang po tayo sa pagtiwala at pagsuporta sa liderato ng ating mahal na Pangulo,” Bongbong said.
