Under the Sari-Saring Pag-asa program, Cayetano provides an additional P3,500 capital to sari-sari store owners, most of whom have been affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 pandemic.

On Saturday, November 13, Cayetano extended help to 100 sari-sari storeowners — 60 beneficiaries came from Laoag City (Ilocos Norte), Urbiztondo (Pangasinan), and San Fernando City (La Union) and 40 selected online.

Up to 5,937 have been assisted under the program since it began a few months ago.

Ilocos Norte Rep. Ria Fariñas, Pangasinan Rep. Ramon Guico III and San Fernando City, La Union Vice Mayor Alfredo Pablo Ortega thanked Cayetano with the assistance delivered to their respective constituents.

Cayetano said helping small businesses such as the sari-sari store also has a boost in lifting the economy since the country’s economic status has been affected by the pandemic. He said the program will continue to help more people.

Meanwhile, Cayetano will run for senator in the 2022 elections as an independent candidate.

He is seeking a senatorial slot which is said to be one of the coveted positions during the national elections.

This year, out of hundreds who filed their Certificate of Candidacy (COC) only 12 will be elected.

Among those who are rooting a senatorial slot in the coming elections are ordinary citizens to elite individuals as well as prominent personalities.
