House Deputy Speaker Lito Atienza Speaks on Marcos Family

ATIENZA – Vice-presidential aspirant and House Deputy Speaker Lito Atienza believes that the Philippines doesn’t need another Marcos presidency.

The presidential bid of former Senator Bongbong Marcos Jr. is undeniably surrounded by issues and the different stands of the people on having another Marcos for the presidency following a 20-year regime of his late father. The Marcos regime from 1965 to 1986 is facing issues of violation of human rights and the alleged ill-gotten wealth of the family.

Currently, there are five (5) petitions filed before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) against the presidential bid of the former Senator. Two (2) of the petitions cited his non-filing of his income tax returns before.

Summons were sent to the camp of the former Senator and they have already filed their response citing that he has won and served several positions before.
