The news platform is currently making rounds online following interaction between one of its social media personnel and a netizen.

In the said post, the netizen was commenting on the political bids of Senator Bong Go and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

It was just recently when Bong Go, a longtime aide of Duterte and incumbent senator filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) as vice president under the ruling party, PDP-Laban.

On the other hand, Sara, the presidential daughter, filed her COC seeking re-election as mayor of Davao City.

But the so-called “observers” have cast doubt over the finality of her decision to run for mayor.

However, according to her spokesperson, she has “no intention” to become the standard-bearer of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan.

It would be recalled that it was in 2015 when President Duterte filed his candidacy for mayor but apparently withdraw.

Instead, his daughter ran and ended up winning the post while he vied for the highest position in the government and eventually won.

Meanwhile, social media personnel of Manila Bulletin allegedly used the newspaper’s official account in reply to the comment of a netizen who made a remark against Bong Go and Sara Duterte.

The netizen criticized Go, whom the netizen claimed “walang ginawa sa senado” but wanted to become the vice president in the upcoming elections.

Bulletin’s social media staff commented using the news outlet’s official account defending the two especially Bong Go.

On Monday, Manila Bulletin issued a public apology following the controversy.
