2022 ELECTIONS – A beauty queen and an ex-Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate will run for councilor in Quezon City in the upcoming polls.
Many showbiz personalities are trying their luck in the upcoming elections. One of their primary reasons for venturing into politics is to expand their platform in helping others.
Among those who recently filed their Certificate of Candidacy (COC) before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) are Bobby Andrews, Angelu de Leon, Raffy Tulfo, Ejay Falcon and to name a few.
Adding to the list of celebrities-turned-election hopefuls is no less than Annalie “Ali” Forbes.
On Sunday, October 3, she filed her COC at the Comelec Eton Centris in Quezon City.
She’s seeking a political seat as councilor of District 6 in Quezon City.
She rose to fame when she became part of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) 7 Adult Chapter. Unfortunately, she was evicted.
But prior to that, she joined the Binibining Pilipinas in 2012 where she won as first runner-up. She also joined Miss Grand International in 2013 where she coveted the third runner-up.
Meanwhile, the filing of COC kicked off on Friday, October 1 and it will end on October 8.
The Commission on Elections will post a tentative list of candidates on October 29
On the other hand, the campaign period for nationally-elected positions will kick off on February 8, 2022, until May 7, 2022, while for locally-elected positions, it will start on March 25 until May 7, 2022. The nationwide elections are scheduled to be held on May 9.
