Marivic held no punches in defending her husband while reacting to the President’s tirade against Senator Franklin Drilon and her husband aired on Saturday, September 11.

Marivic mentioned that Drilon and her husband are (second) cousins. She also stressed that the two are not tainted with any proven cases of corruption.

She cited that the PNP, DILG, PDEA, and NBI have already cleared or acquitted the former mayor of drugs.

It was in August 2016 when Mabilog was named by the president among the government officials linked with the illegal drugs.

But Mabilog denied the accusations. According to Inquirer.net, he and his family have not returned to the Philippines due to safety concerns.

Even after the former mayor of Iloilo City left the country, the President has also mentioned Mabilog in his speeches.

More than five years after the President tagged him along with several other officials linked with the drug trade, no case related to illegal drugs has been filed against him.

Aside from Mabilog, Duterte also asked about Drilon’s ties with Janet Lim-Napoles, who’s being tagged as the queen of the pork barrel scam.

According to the president, Drilon had encounters with Napoles in Heritage Park in Taguig City.

Duterte also alleged that Napoles had contributed PHP 5 million to Senator Drilon’s campaign.

The President had launched attacks against Drilon who’s among those investigating alleged irregularities in the procurement of medical supplies last year.
