“The Chelsea Cowboy” was a biopic that was based on the life of John Bindon, and the actress will be playing blues British singer Dana Gillespie.

On Thursday, Lovi shared during her first press conference as an ABS-CBN talent that she’s able to nab the role a few months ago.

One of the producers and the writer of ‘The Chelsea Cowboy’ reached out to my management and asked me to read for the part. It was as simple as that. I read for the part, forgot about it and a few weeks after, it happened,” Lovi shared.

Lovi also said that she felt honored to be working on the said project alongside Poppy Delevingne and Alex Pettyfer when they start filming next month.

But before that, the actress said that aside from making sure that she’s fully aware of who she’s playing, she will do her best to give justice to her role.

One of her preparations was to learn the accent of Dana Gillespie with the help of a dialect coach.

Lovi shared that she’ll be playing a role with a different accent and that’s something she looked forward to, adding that she’s trying to make sure that she got there prepared.

Aside from being part of the Hollywood film, the actress said that she also felt blessed that she’s with a network which she knew will be supportive.

Of course me getting into this different playing field is already a huge thing. Just to be part of this movie is a real blessing for me. Even if I will be flying back and forth, if given the opportunity, I believe ABS-CBN would be very much supportive of anyone who’s going to be able to pursue different careers abroad,” Lovi said.

Lovi officially became a Kapamilya last Thursday after signing a contract with ABS-CBN. She was set to star in a Filipino remake of a Korean drama hit “Flower of Evil” alongside Piolo Pascual.
