Alden Richards Speaks on Kindness: ‘I Am a Good Person’
Kapuso star Alden Richards said he takes pride in being a good person during the “Hero for All” awards night held in Mandaluyong City on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
The event honored 20 unsung heroes, everyday Filipinos with selfless and inspiring stories. Alden’s remarks came while social media was buzzing over allegations posted online by social media personality Xian Gaza. Based on reports, the actor did not directly address the allegations in his speech.
“I really do believe that if there’s one thing I’m proud of, sabihin niyo nang mayabang ako, pero alam ko at the end of the day, I am a good person. No one can take that away,” Alden said in his opening message, as reported by ABS-CBN News.
He encouraged the honorees to carry the same mindset. “And I’m sure gusto ko ganun din yung maging mindset ng mga heroes natin, na you can be proud to tell the world that you’re a good person. Please be proud of that fact.”
The actor also talked about how good and bad deeds come back to people. “In our lifetime, in our daily lives, I do believe that we always get what we deserve, may it be good or bad,” he said.
“Do good without expectations of it returning to you kasi one way or another, it will find its way back to you. You do bad and you know what will happen,” Alden added.
He then urged the audience to be the change they want to see in society, just like the 20 awardees of the night.
According to Alden, kindness does not depend on one’s status in life. “Ang pagiging mabuti po, e libre. Libre siya eh. Lahat pwedeng gumawa nito eh. Lahat ng ano ka man sa buhay,” he said.
“And if there’s one thing na hindi mananakaw sa inyo ng kahit sino man, yun po yung kabutihan ng puso. So guard it. Guard it with your life,” he added.
Among the honorees was singer Jona, who was recognized for her advocacy of rescuing and helping animals.
