The pilot implementation of the new quarantine protocols in Metro Manila will start today, September 16.

From ECQ (enhanced community quarantine), MECQ (modified enhanced community quarantine), MGCQ (modified general community quarantine), and GCQ (general community quarantine) it will be changed to Alert Level System.

There will be five alert levels to be implemented in local government units depending on the number of COVID-19 cases and healthcare system capability.

Metro Manila will be placed under Alert Level 4.

According to PEP.ph, the Department of Health (DOH) records almost 20,000 cases daily.
