The son of billionaire Roberto “Bobby” Ongpin is being investigated following the death of the young painter.

Based on the police report, Ongpin was Bree Jonson’s companion when she was found unconscious in the bathroom area of a hotel in La Union on Saturday, September 8.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead.

The son of the business tycoon was later taken into police custody due to drug possession.

San Juan police chief, Maj. Gerardo Macaraeg said that cocaine was found in the room shared by Bree Jonson and Julian Ongpin.

As per the report, the two checked in the early evening of Friday, September 17. Apparently, they stepped out before midnight and returned to their room at around 3 a.m.

Ongpin rushed out of their room thirty minutes later calling for help. He claimed that he found the 30-year-old artist lifeless.

Meanwhile, Sally Jonson reached out to DOJ Secretary Menardo Guevarra, asking for an immigration lookout bulletin order against Ongpin.

She claimed a possible involvement of Ongpin in the death of her daughter. According to her, Julian Ongpin has been released after posting bail.

Julian Ongpin is said to be the assistant to the chairman of Alphaland Corporation.

He is also the president of Ongpin Angel Investors Corporation. Earlier this year, his family set up a PHP1 billion fund to invest in promising Filipino startups.
