After almost five years, Karen Bordador walks out of prison
KAREN BORDADOR – A former radio disk jockey (DJ) has been acquitted of drug charges hurled against her.
It was on August 13, 2016, when she and her ex-boyfriend Emilio Lim were arrested together due to the alleged possession and sale of illegal drugs.
But Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 151 found her and her ex-boyfriend not guilty of the charges.
In a 35-page decision, Presiding Judge Maria Paz-Reyes-Yson said that there was sufficient reason to doubt the charges against them because the scenes in the closed-circuit television footage presented at the court and the testimony of witnesses were allegedly contradictory.
Bordador was released on June 15, 2021, from Pasig City Jail after staying there for five years.
She only spoke about her painful and sad experiences through her YouTube channel via a post uploaded on August 27.

“Thirty seconds later upon my arrival, just thirty seconds, my life completely changed,” Bordador said while recalling the buy-bust operation that changed her life.
Karen Bordador then underwent a drug test with a negative result but she still suffered in prison for four years and ten months.
If calculated, this is equivalent to 1,767 days in her life. She celebrated five birthdays, five Christmases, and five New Years inside the prison.
In her vlog, she could not stop her tears from falling as she looks back at the past.
Despite the bitter and traumatic experience, Bordador’s views became positive.
